HAPPY NEWS!!
I've been published, sort of. The fabulous people at the charity Mind have added my essay on ecotherapy to their website under 'Ecominds' and the 'Mental health and the environment' section. (You can read it here too). I can barely believe it; I don't feel like a total failure right now ~ I have been able to turn my depression and anxiety into something positive. Who knows, someone might just read it and think 'I'll give gardening a go' and it may help them too. Wow, you can't begin to understand how good this feels AND my Hubby has said how super duper proud of me, he is, he even made up a song. Hahaha
Fantastic Carrie. We know you are a good writer now others will too.

Very best wishes,

Hi Carrie What an amazing and touching, but also inspiring article. How clever you are to overcome you health problems and move on into allotment gardening and blogging. I am sure this will inspire others who struggle with depression.
ReplyDeleteKeep it close by you and when you next feel really down look at what you achieved.
I am in touch with many people through Eurolyme who also have mental health problems caused by Lyme Disease. Brain fog, difficulty concentrating, disorientation, depression, and psychiatric problems. There have been a number of suicides of people with Lyme disease.
Last year I went to Lyme Disease Action conference and listened to an amazing presentation from Psychiatrist Dr Bransfield. He has associated many mental health problems with infection and yes in many cases Lyme Disease. He and his colleagues are having great success treating these patients on a combination of psych drugs and antibiotics. Rather revolutionary views but who knows one day many more people may find their health problems related to micro organisms. The most amazing research is that he and other colleagues have also made links to autistic children and Lyme Disease. Not all by any means but even if only a small percentage who amazing is that.
Here I go again on my hobby horse. But so so much interesting research.
Take care Carrie and long may you continue to enjoy your allotmenteering and blogging.
That is great news. It is just so great to be able to read the thoughts of someone else who experiences similar thoughts, thank you!
