Thank you Nature

I am not religious, but I came across this Jewish song today and by replacing the words Lord and God with that of Nature it became so beautiful and as I read it my heart swole even in this day of hailstones and freezing winds. Nature leads us through these inhospitable times in order to show her beauty, power and prescence and in order to make the sweet spring all the more uplifting.

'I will extol Thee, O Nature, for Thou hast drawn me up, and have not allowed my foes to rejoice over me. O Nature, I cried out to Thee and Thou didst heal me. O Nature, Thou raised my soul from the grave, Thou kept me alive that I should not descend into the pit.'

At these times of poor weather, of cold and hard ground, this period were I can not be in touch with Nature She still gives me strength. My Depression is utterly woeful but I look to my photographs and try to remember the joy of seedlings, of much colour and fragrance and rich bounty from the soil. May you do the same.

My warmest wishes to you  all xxx

  1. Hi Carrie, the poem is beautiful and so are the photo's. Personally having a strong faith so I think that we have nature through God, I can't believe that it all just happened from a big bang, it's all too beautiful and had to have had a designer. Just looking at intricate patterns and colours in any one flower or plant is a work of art, as is the workings of a human being.

I hope your mood lifts soon, mine has been a bit low because of the lack of light these days. I look out to the garden and can't imagine it ever being beautiful again, even though I know it will.

Ah well we have the planning of next spring to keep us busy.

    Have a lovely week-end.

  8. You amaze me, Carrie. That put the tears in my eyes, and in a good way.

Sending you much love and wishes for a lift, emotionally and maybe even (dare one say it aloud?) weather-wise. Y'all's weather sounds downright inhospitable lately!

  9. That was moving. I haven't been around in awhile and the first thing I read from you just gets me in the gut... in a good way. And Carrie, those photographs are stunning. Just brimming with a life that will not be contained. I'm with Meredith in sending my wishes for a lift very soon. Until then, continue to be as kind to yourself as you already have been.
