Spring is umm... springing

It's only a wee change but these brighter blue skied days are making me feel a tiny bit happier :) The gorgeous little tete-a-tetes in the back garden cheer my soul like they do every year but somehow I simply feel overwhelmed. It sounds rather stupid but the thought of spring (this year) has me worried about all the work that needs done and the fact that I haven't been able to help.

I haven't been at the allotment for goodness knows how many weeks now and Andrew has been working hard and getting loads done. I am so proud of him. He took a photo of all my other tete-a-tetes down there for me and brought home another glorious harvest of our leeks.

Andrew planted our first seeds of the season - 'Aguadulce' Broad Beans and I tried to be enthused, take photos and everything but not once, until now, have I thought about them.

Back home he was out in the shed, clearing room for new seed trays and found some more perfectly well stored beetroots too, yum! And talking about seed tray room, we have great news - we have a greenhouse coming our way soon .... Hoorah :)

  3. Such a pity that you can't enjoy spring as you should. Gardening should be a pleasure not a chore just do what you can and don't worry about the rest.

    1. Oh it's not big, a lean to. Though it's enough for our needs - maybe you'll find ours is an option for yourself. Oh am a teaser ;) xx

  5. I have the ups and downs lately. One minute I'm ready to take off and do everything and the next I can barely get out of my chair. I had a glimpse recently of how I could be again now I'm working hard to make that glimpse a reality. I hope you feel better soon and that spring lightens your spirit.

  6. This time of year makes me feel so much better, I must admit because the winter wasn't as harsh as recent years I didn't retreat too much into myself, lots of woodland walking and fresh air! But I was very satisfied to work in the garden this week clearing the raised beds in preparation for seeds, lovely March jobs! Katie x

  7. Oh! Those leeks look absolutely scrumptious! What a nice thing to haul home from the plot. I love your photo of those daffs -- so cheerful and sunshiny. More to come, I hope.

    1. ohhh the leeks are so tasty and there's loads left at the plot, I didn't realise. I think I may cut some little daffs for myself this weekend - that yellow is just so happy. Hope you are well xx

  8. greenhouse for your at home garden? Where you can putter peacefully in your OWN space? We have builders here ... longing for the end of Friday afternoon, when the cats and I can have our own space back. Dusty but ours!

    1. It's just a wee lean to greenhouse but yes it's at the house - hurrah. So much stuff gets stolen at the allotments, there was no way we'd put it there. Ahh I remember living in a building site, not so much dusty as mucky and squelchy, hopefully all is going to plan! x
