Treat yourself right - plus update

I feel rather like a failure today as I have no energy, none of that fight and am merely wallowing in my depression. Its pathetic but needs must; I have been pushing a lot and this weekend is a long one which I hope to enjoy.

Rest is a good thing, right? Everywhere I turn, the glorification of busy seems to shoved in my face and I just can't live like that. Slowly, very slowly (hence the feeling of failure) I am realising what is right for me, my body, my mind, my health.

So many happy plans for the next 3 days, involving the allotment of course :) But for now..Happy weekend and remember:

UPDATE

Well I truly am an eejit and have deeply upset myself. I just somehow deleted around 100 of my most recent comments here on the blog wherein the comments have recently given me such hope and support. Without all your kind words of encouragement I would not have achieved near half as much this year so far. I have been crying and hating myself for about 2hrs now. Idiot!!

I tried to retrieve some via my email but it's hard work and there isn't much there as I delete lots of the time.
Anyway, just incase you see your comment missing, I didn't mean to delete it!

  1. Ha! Thanks for the reminder on that one!!! And yes I hear you on the movement of things and speed being glorified but I tend to draw away from that with the beans. I prefer to take a bit slower too! I hope that you have a great weekend ahead! Nicole xo

  2. Sorry you're feeling rubbish. I'm trying to work out what I'm doing at the moment too, and it's all too easy to get down about a lack of action. It's hard to remember and accept it takes time. Hang in there. That's what I tell myself. Tomorrow is another day and it's St Patricks Weekend (many countries are jealous of that)

    1. Thank you! You hang in there too my friend. The whole St Patrick's thing is definitely a bigger deal outside of our wee country. I heard once there is green Guinness in some places - sacrilege! xxxx

  3. Well - here's a new one! You are not a failure. You have achieved loads this week. I simply love reading your blog and hearing how things are growing, how your beautiful doggy is doing and what you have achieved. I even mentioned in my blog yesterday how much you have inspired me to get back into my allotment. I am so sad to hear you have not had a good day and are feeling so down. Sending you lots of lovely vibes and hoping this little comment helps even just a tiny bit xxx

    2. I am so glad to hear it!! Please be kind to yourself my dear. And yes, you did. You literally put daylight between my bum and the sofa it was glued to with your reminder about pruning my raspberry canes :) I suddenly wanted to do it, so thank you! Hoping tomorrow is brighter for you xxxx

  6. Don't worry, I'll leave lots more comments Carrie. I don't like the glorification of "busy" either. It doesn't equal happy, more like displacement activity I think. I hope you have a restful weekend and that you feel more positive soon. I hear the sun will be shining. Spring is surely here. Take care of you, CJ xx

  7. Same here as CJ says... I will keep commenting. I love what you do and I love it even more because I know how difficult it can be. just REST and eff what the current fashion of "busy" dictates. It is ridiculous anyway. Wee need sleep, we need laziness, we need to get out and do some work, but overdoing is not healthy. I remember times when I laid i bed for five hours, because getting up or going to the loo was just too much work and every millimetre of my body ached... There are bad moments and bad days and we need the rest more than people who claim themselves "normal". Keep strong, keep writing and we will keep coming back and commenting. *hugs*

    1. So perfectly put! I could crawl under a rock today and hide from the world, from light itself. But I just need rest and time here on the sofa to dose and read and not worry. I've been pushing again and now it's time to recuperate. Oh but I am strong inside :)
      Much love xxx
